Audi RS6 GT3

The Audi RS6 GT3 is the Digital Drivers race build of the RS 6 Avant C8: the twin-turbo V8 estate with quattro drive, rebuilt the way a GT3 car is built. No real GT3 RS6 exists, so this car combines real parts that fit the C8 with GT3 practice: KW V4 three-way coilovers with steel springs instead of the air suspension, GT3 steel brakes behind 19-inch wheels, 325 mm GT3 slicks, an APR GTC-500 rear wing and a GT3 splitter.

GT3

what this stage is about

The RS6 Avant as a GT3-style race car for track days and the Nordschleife: standard engine, GT3 aero, 19-inch slicks and GT3 brakes and the full GT3 body.

  • Audi 4.0 TFSI V8 as Audi rates it: 600 PS at 6,000-6,250 rpm and 800 Nm from 2,050 to 4,500 rpm; the curve between the published points is our estimate.
  • ZF eight-speed gearbox, quattro with the Torsen centre differential and the 1,100 Nm clutch as in the road car; rear-wheel steering and driving modes removed.
  • KW V4 three-way coilovers with steel springs instead of the air suspension, GT3 steel brakes, APR GTC-500 rear wing and a GT3 splitter, about 40 % of the downforce on the front axle.
  • 1,650 kg with driver and without fuel (estimate: no real GT3 RS6 exists), 52 % on the front axle (transaxle layout, estimate), GT3 track 1.747 / 1.765 m, 120 l safety cell.
  • Setup: ride heights 75 / 85 mm, springs 220 / 190 N/mm, brake bias 56.0 %, TC 3, ABS 7, wing at +1, 60 l of fuel.

The reference

MTM RS 6 Avant C8, 1,001 PS (Auto Bild test car)

No real GT3 RS6 exists, so this car combines real parts that fit the C8 with GT3 practice. Its strongest stage follows MTM's hybrid-turbo RS 6 with 1,001 PS and 1,250 Nm, which Auto Bild road-tested: 0-100 km/h in 2.8 s and 0-200 km/h in 8.9 s at 2,166 kg.

The measurements

37laps with telemetry

driven in this car by club drivers and shared from the app of their own free will. The setups marked “measured” take tyre pressures, fuel per lap and brake bias from laps like these.

  • Dyno: Jackal Stage 1 with ARM downpipes, 647 whp / 654 wtq against the same Dynojet's stock 556 / 587, the figures of Stage 1
  • Unitronic's published Stage 2 for the C8: 819 hp / 760 lb-ft on 98 RON with named intake, downpipes and CSF intercoolers
  • Club telemetry on the Nordschleife (2026-10-19/20): bump-stop contact at the Fuchsröhre and free-running boost above 7,100 rpm, both fixed from the logs

  • The front slick is now a bespoke hard compound on every stage, so it takes less heat under load; a fictional compound (no real tyre cited), the rear slick is unchanged.
  • Transaxle layout: 52 % of the weight on the front axle instead of 56 %, gearbox and centre differential at the rear axle, total weight unchanged, nothing visible changes (an estimate, not a real car).
  • Brake bias 56 %, its range now starts at 52 %; wing at +1 for about 40 % of the downforce on the front axle; wing and splitter keep their place on the body.
  • New Nordschleife setups for all stages with new cold pressures (estimates); older setups still carry the old bias and pressures, so please use the new ones.

The car

The Audi RS6 GT3 is the Digital Drivers race build of the RS 6 Avant C8: the twin-turbo V8 estate with quattro drive, rebuilt the way a GT3 car is built. No real GT3 RS6 exists, so this car combines real parts that fit the C8 with GT3 practice: KW V4 three-way coilovers with steel springs instead of the air suspension, GT3 steel brakes behind 19-inch wheels, 325 mm GT3 slicks, an APR GTC-500 rear wing and a GT3 splitter.

The standard 4.0 TFSI V8 with Audi's 600 PS drives through the ZF eight-speed gearbox and the Torsen centre differential as in the road car; the rear-wheel steering and the driving modes are removed. Three tuning stages follow real products for this engine, from software and downpipes to MTM's hybrid turbochargers with 1,001 PS.

1,650 kg in the game with driver and without fuel (an estimate from an itemised parts list), 52 % on the front axle with the gearbox and centre differential at the rear axle, the cooling package in the boot and 44 kg of ballast, 120 l safety cell. The body is our own GT3 kit for the C8: bolt-on wings and quarters 40 / 60 mm wider a side over the GT3 track, closed rear doors with a side scoop, louvres, race bumpers, canards and a carbon diffuser.

The original

Audi built the RS 6 Avant C8 from 2019: a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 600 PS and 800 Nm, an eight-speed automatic, quattro drive with a Torsen centre differential, rear-wheel steering and air suspension, about 2.1 tonnes. The RS 6 Avant performance followed with 630 PS.

No racing RS6 exists: Audi's GT3 car is the mid-engined R8 LMS, and the only racing estate of note was Volvo's 850 in the 1994 BTCC. Tuners took the C8 to about 1,000 PS on the stock engine block; this build puts that engine into a GT3-style chassis.
