The base 935 Moby Dick: upgraded VTG turbos on the 3.8-litre flat six and the full aero package, at a power that races the club's other fast cars.

Manhart's TR 850 kit for the 991 Turbo S is the engine level: 850 PS at 7,000 rpm, the maker's figure carried over to rear drive. Torque is capped at 945 Nm, our estimate, against the kit's published 1,090 Nm.
Seven-speed PDK with GT2 RS ratios and a Dodson 11-plate pack, 80 ms downshifts (estimate); about 335 km/h on the straight, model.

First release: the 935 as a modern Moby Dick after the Flachbau flatnose and the 935/78. New rear wing on carbon end plates, roof scoop and roof skin, hood with central channel and two vents, fender lamp stairs with two LED openings in body colour, splitter, dive planes, side blades and rear aerodiscs. Base 850 PS, Stage 1 1,018 PS, Stage 2 1,420 PS, Stage 3 1,940 PS; 18 in centre-lock wheels with 325 mm slicks all round. Liveries: Martini 935/78 as the default, club orange and club anthracite.

The car

Rear-wheel drive, 1,325 kg, 38 % on the front axle: the mass and balance of the GT3 R, with more than twice its power from Stage 2 up. The engine figures come from tuners' AWD Turbo S builds, the aero from our own estimate.

The original

Porsche's 935/78 of 1978, the long-tail 'Moby Dick', was the most extreme works 935: a flat six with four-valve water-cooled heads, more than 750 PS, and 366 km/h on the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans.

In 2018 Porsche revived the name with 77 clubsport 935s on the GT2 RS, 700 PS, a long tail and the wide flat nose. The Moby Dick takes that car where the original went: more engine, more downforce, less weight.
