Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR is the Digital Drivers build of the 991.2 GT2 RS with the Manthey MR kit as it lapped the Nordschleife in 6:43.300 in June 2021: KW coilovers with three-way struts at the front and four-way dampers at the rear, a larger rear wing, carbon underbody and diffuser, rear aerodiscs, racing pads for the ceramic brakes, an extra water tank for the intercooler spray, the Weissach package with its magnesium wheels and Michelin Cup 2 R.

GT2 RS MR

what this stage is about

The GT2 RS with the Manthey MR kit as Porsche's 2021 Nordschleife record car ran it (6:43.300): standard engine and road tyres, for track days.

  • MR kit: KW coilovers, the MR rear wing, carbon underbody and diffuser, rear aerodiscs, racing pads and braided brake lines, the extra 9 l spray-water tank.
  • The standard 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six: 700 PS at 7,000 rpm and 750 Nm from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm, Porsche's figures; the curve between them is our estimate.
  • The standard seven-speed PDK and clutches, the Weissach package with magnesium 20 / 21-inch wheels, Michelin Cup 2 R and Porsche ceramic brakes.
  • MR track aero package (larger splitter with dive planes, high-downforce wing setting): about 150 kg front and 350 kg rear at 200 km/h (30 % front, our estimate; Porsche measured 70 / 200 kg for the MR kit). Porsche's figures for the GT2 RS: 340 km/h (with the track aero about 315 km/h, our model), 0-100 km/h 2.8 s, 0-200 km/h 8.3 s, 11.8 l/100 km (NEDC).
  • Ride heights 100 / 114 mm for the larger road tyres, camber -2.5 degrees, bump rubbers from 40 / 70 mm travel, springs 160 / 220 N/mm (estimate), brake bias 60 %, TC 7, ABS 4, 64 l of fuel.

179laps with telemetry

driven in this car by club drivers and shared from the app of their own free will. The setups marked “measured” take tyre pressures, fuel per lap and brake bias from laps like these.

  • Porsche's technical data: 515 kW (700 PS) at 7,000 rpm, 750 Nm from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm, 7,200 rpm, the base engine
  • Dyno: McChip-DKR Stage 3 with TTE upgrade turbos measured at 913 PS and 922 Nm, the figures of Stage 2
  • Dyno: Cobb Accessport Stage 1, 694 whp / 593 wtq on 93-blend, about 802 PS / 855 Nm at the crank by our conversion, the cross-check of Stage 1's 810 PS

The car

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR is the Digital Drivers build of the 991.2 GT2 RS with the Manthey MR kit as it lapped the Nordschleife in 6:43.300 in June 2021: KW coilovers with three-way struts at the front and four-way dampers at the rear, a larger rear wing, carbon underbody and diffuser, rear aerodiscs, racing pads for the ceramic brakes, an extra water tank for the intercooler spray, the Weissach package with its magnesium wheels and Michelin Cup 2 R.

The GT2 RS MR keeps the standard 700 PS engine, as the record car did. Stage 1 adds a real bolt-on tune, McChip-DKR Stage 2 with Capristo downpipes and CSF intercoolers, for 810 PS and 850 Nm; Stage 2 adds TTE upgrade turbochargers and a Dodson PDK clutch pack for 913 PS and 922 Nm. All three run road tyres on the 20 / 21-inch wheels.

1,481 kg in the game with driver and without fuel (the game adds the 64 l road tank's load). Interior, sound and electronics are the GT2 RS Clubsport Evo's; the road-car body parts follow.

The original

Porsche built the 991.2 GT2 RS from 2017 to 2019: 700 PS from the 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six, a seven-speed PDK and rear-wheel drive. It lapped the Nordschleife in 6:47.3 in September 2017.

Manthey Racing's MR kit followed in 2018. With it, Lars Kern lapped the Nordschleife in 6:40.3 in October 2018 on Michelin Cup 2 R with the standard engine, and in 6:43.300 on the 20.832 km layout in 2021, when Porsche sold the kit as Tequipment.
